She Kills Monsters

I played Vera in a production of the play She Kills Monsters Written by Qui Nguyen. The play is about a young average girl named Agnes Evans who one day wishes her life could be less boring. Her wish unfortunately comes true and her little sister Tilly dies in a car crash. Agnes was never super close with her sister. When she was cleaning out Tilly's rooms, she discovered her Dungeons and Dragons journal. Through the play we see Agnes use this journal and Tilly's friends, to help her understand her sister better. As she is whisked away into her sisters DND realm she begins to connect fantasy with reality, and learns things about her sisters life that she never knew. In the play, Vera is Agnes's sarcastic and sassy best friend who works at The Gap. She is supportive of Agnes but doesn't approve of her boyfriend Miles.
